Why should I consider hiring a coach?
Why should I consider hiring a coach?
Coaching is partnering with you, the client, in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize your personal and professional potential.

As your coach I make this journey with you, facilitating your discovery, awareness and choice, encouraging and supporting you to make significant and lasting choices and changes.

What is Coaching?
What is Coaching?
Coaching is partnering with you, the client, to maximize your personal and professional potential. Your coach isn't there to simply tell you what to do.

Your coach will help you explore where you are now and where you want to get to, what blockers are in the way, what options are there to consider?

Your coach will also agree actions with you and be there to review them with you.

What's the difference between business coaching and personal coaching?
What's the difference between business coaching and personal coaching?
As a coach I bring all my life experience and awareness of people, I respect their diversity and values, their strengths and weaknesses. We all have dreams, we all have fears, and we all deal with the "stuff of life" in a different way. This is why I love working with people.

In terms of the approach and methodology that I use, there is no difference at all. I have over 30 years' experience of working for and with large organisations, many of whom are blue chip. I understand the corporate world and all its challenges, pressures and rewards.

My client list includes people from sectors as diverse as: City Law Firms, Banking, Insurance, FMCG, Telecoms, Consultancy, Engineering, Infrastructure, Retail, Hotel and Hospitality, Property, Motor, Train Operating Companies and Energy.

Is coaching a type of therapy or counseling?
Is coaching a type of therapy or counseling?
No, it's not.
Therapist and counselors undergo a very different training and offer a very different service to that of a coach.

If you are in any doubt as to what will be most beneficial for you please call me and we can discuss your requirements in more detail.

Is coaching nothing more than a nice cosy little chat?
Is coaching nothing more than a nice cosy little chat?
No, it's not.
You can get a nice cosy little chat anywhere from anybody you know.

If you invest in me as your coach I will agree with you the approach we will take in the sessions. We call this a "designed alliance" which is an agreed contract as to how we will work together. This can be reviewed at any time during our coaching relationship. For example, if you tell me that you need to be regularly challenged then I will challenge you and your thinking.

What do you charge/How does it work?
What do you charge/How does it work?
I have different rates for my corporate clients and my personal ones. Please contact me and I will be happy to discuss my fees with you.

I work on a coaching package of 8 sessions. This comprises an initial 1-hour Diagnostic "Discovery" session and then 7 x 45-minute coaching sessions. I also set you homework to complete in between the sessions (nothing too onerous!). You also have full support from me in between sessions should you require it.

I am completely committed to your transformation and success.

I offer free sample sessions of 30 minutes.

This is a chance for you to see if I would be a good fit for you as a coach and to see what coaching is all about.

If you then decide that you would like me to coach you then we sign a simple contract to agree the charges and the number, duration and frequency of your coaching sessions. I offer an initial 4-month package, starting with your own personal discovery session.

As we proceed with your programme we regularly review your coaching progress and agree next steps.

Do you coach on the phone or face to face?
Do you coach on the phone or face to face?
I coach face to face, on the phone and using Skype video.

Many of my clients are abroad so telephone coaching is the most effective way to coach. You'll be surprised how effective this method is in achieving results.

Face to face coaching is available locally to my home or if I'm working close to where you are based.

Do you guarantee confidentiality?
Do you guarantee confidentiality?

What is co-active coaching?
What is co-active coaching?
Co-active coaching was developed by observing many thousands of hours of coaching, it is a proven methodology that believes that the client and the coach are active collaborators and the agenda for the coaching is generated by the client. In a word, it's a partnership.

We hold this mantra to be true: "The client is naturally creative, resourceful and whole". This is the basis of how we encourage and support you on your path to discover what is truly important for you and how you can move forward successfully.

Where did you train to be a coach?
Where did you train to be a coach?
I trained with an organisation called CTI (Coaches Training Institute) to be a co-active coach.

CTI offered the most comprehensive and rigorous training I could find in the marketplace. Their coaching accreditation takes over a year to complete and consists of supervised coaching sessions and two exams. Accreditation is only granted once the coach has completed a minimum of 100 hours supervised coaching.

They are the coach training organisation of choice for the ICF (International Coach Federation) of which I am a member.
